  • Is Kona’s K9 Club free to join?

    Absolutely! Become a member of our club and enjoy the benefits of a service that is tailored to you and your dog(s). When you’re a member of the club, you’re treated as a member of the family. We treat all members’ furry canines as our own!

  • How do I sign up for your service?

    For your convenience, there are three options: You can call or text us during business hours at 858-848-9994, Email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., or Click here to fill out our service request form and submit it online. We will contact you within 24 hours to schedule a meet-and-greet. This will take place in your home where your dog is in his or her comfort zone. During this initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet us and ask any questions you may have. We will also gather all required information and take possession of keys, if necessary. This will take approximately 30 minutes.

  • Do you come to my house or do I need to drop off my dog?

    At Kona’s K9 Club, we strive to be the most convenient and accommodating pet service provider and will happily come to you!

  • What areas do you service?

    Currently we provide dog walking and dog adventure services to the following areas: 4S Ranch, Carmel Mountain Ranch, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Peñasquitos, Sabre Springs, and Scripps Ranch. Please see our service area map on our Contact Us page for further details. Other areas may be covered upon request. If you are outside our service area, give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • Do you only care for dogs?

    Yes. Our services are specifically tailored to dog’s needs. We focus on providing exercise to the mind and body of your furry canine family member(s).

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    In order to be fair and respectful to all our clients, we appreciate a cancellation notice as soon as possible. However, we understand that stuff happens, so at Kona’s K9 Club there is no charge for cancellations.

  • Are you bonded and insured?

    Yes. Kona’s K9 Club is fully bonded and insured through Pet Sitters Associates, LLC. This offers full liability and protection while your pet is in our care. Our policy can be provided upon request.

  • Will my dog be walked individually or in a group?

    Our dog walking services include both private and group dog walks. Group dog walks will usually consist of 2-4 dogs. Dogs will be interviewed before placed in a group walk. Please see our Services and Rates page for more details.

  • Do I need to have a meet-and-greet each time I need service?

     No. Only an initial meet-and-greet is necessary to gather your pet’s information and to set-up a service agreement. After you have joined our club, a simple email or phone call is all that is necessary to place you on our schedule.

  • How do you get access to my home and is it safe?

    During the meet-and-greet you will provide us with two copies of your key that will be kept securely on file in our office. The keys will be coded with no reference to your address. If keys are not necessary, we will record your specific instructions to gain access to your home and keep those with your file. If for some reason your key is lost or stolen, our insurance covers the cost of re-keying the locks in your home by a licensed locksmith. We take our clients privacy and security very seriously.

  • How do I pay for services?

    We accept cash, checks (payable to KK9 Club LLC), and all major credit cards. Payment is due within 2 business days of the invoice date. There will be a $35 service charge for each returned check. Failure to pay may result in cancellation of services without notice.

  • What if my pet becomes sick or injured in your care?

    Your pet’s welfare is our number one priority. During the meet-and-greet we will gather all necessary medical and veterinarian information. We will also have you sign an emergency release form allowing Kona’s K9 Club to make decisions regarding your pet’s health. In the case of an incident, we will take your dog to their veterinarian, or the nearest animal hospital. We will first attempt to contact you using the emergency contact information on file, but we reserve the right to seek care if we cannot reach you.

  • What vaccinations are required to be a member?

    All dogs must be up to date on the following vaccines: Rabies, Bordatella, and Distemper/Parvo.
